Since the very first days of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, comic shop retailers have proven themselves to be a backbone of our fight for free speech. Comic retailers have unfailingly understood the importance of protecting the rights of artists and collectors alike. They are men and women who are willing to fight for their right to purchase and sell comics as they see fit, fully recognizing their rights under the First Amendment.
For those retailers who choose to receive premiums with their membership, there are a number of great incentives for joining the CBLDF, and this year is no different. 2016 includes an all-star set of CBLDF Member Store Only variants. These covers are available only to CBLDF member stores, and only available through this program. The titles and artists for these variant covers will be announced over the next month, so keep your eyes on CBLDF.org for the Exclusive Cover Art!
Retailers will also receive copies of three CBLDF publications: the 2016 CBLDF Banned Books Week Handbook, the Manga Book Club Handbook, and the CBLDF "Defend Comics" Free Comic Book Day Bundle.
All retailers receiving premiums will receive:
o A One Year Membership in Comic Book Legal Defense Fund
o The 2016 Membership Card, designed and illustrated by superstar artist Craig Thompson
o Comics Code Authority Enamel Pin
o Banned Comics Infographic Poster
o CBLDF Window Cling
o CBLDF Donation Can
o CBLDF Banned Books Week Handbook 2016
o CBLDF Manga Book Club Handbook
o CBLDF "Defend Comics" Free Comic Book Day Bundle
o An exclusive variant cover set with 1 copy each of the 2016 CBLDF variants including a Matt Wagner cover for DC Entertainment's Trinity #1, a Mike Allred cover for Marvel Comics' Champions #1, a Kevin Nowlan cover for Marvel Comics' Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme #1, and a Robert Hack cover for Dynamite Entertainment's James Bond: Hammerhead #1, and still others to be announced
Retailer Members signing up at higher levels are also eligible to receive other items, such as additional variants and travel mugs.
Retailers will receive a one-year membership in the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Retailers choosing premiums will also receive the membership card, 1 variant cover set, enamel pin, banned comics poster, window cling, donation can, and CBLDF publications.
