THE CONCEPT: Paris, 1933. Europe is still in the grip of feudalism, sorcerers stalk the streets at night, and secret societies vie for power. It is the world of REX MUNDI. Rex Mundi means "King of the World"  in Latin.
THIS ISSUE: On the trail of a stolen scroll connected to a thousand year-old secret society, master physicians Julien Sauni re and Genevieve Tournon head to France's national library. There they uncover a vital clue linking neo-classicalist painter Nicholas Poussin to the mysterious stolen scroll.  Genevieve returns to the Duke of Lorraine's "cottage" and finds smoke coming from a chimney outside. But Lorraine's valet insists no fireplace is lit...And later that night, Julien receives a midnight visitor...
