Average teenager Dave Lizewski is an average American teenager who reads comic books and wants to be a superhero. He decides on a name -- Kick-Ass -- he creates a costume, he goes out to fight crime -- and gets himself positively thrashed. But he inspires others to don costumes, and he encounters the sword-wielding 11 year-old Hit-Girl, her father Big Daddy, and the mysterious Red Mist, and together they go on a bloody, ultra-violent, and super-profane rampage through the criminal underworld.
