Incredible Hulk #714

What's the mark of a true hero? Well, that point's up for debate. Saving the town at the end of the day. Staying in touch with humanity. Trying to find the moral of the story. All good points to make. But we think over here at the end of the day that the mark of a true hero is one doesn't rest on his or her laurels. They allow themselves to take in the moment, and then it's back to work, because there will always be a new threat tomorrow. Evil never sleeps. Amadeus Cho is going to be reminded of that lesson quickly, as he leaves his apocalyptic adventure on Planet Hulk behind him to return to Earth with the raging monster inside of him unchained! Evil may very well be inside of himself! Check out the insanity in Incredible Hulk #714 (JAN180909) which you'll find in the February issue of Marvel PREVIEWS!

Avengers #684

So, the tagline of the ongoing storyline for Avengers #684 (JAN180900) is "No Surrender," and what it breaks down to is a weekly epic event that explodes in your face via an oversized issue. When we say it explodes, we mean that figuratively, of course, but when you see the lineup of creative talent that are working on this story, you know we're not stretching things too thin. After all, Mark Waid, Jim Zub, and Al Ewing are the writers behind this story. So, "explosive"? Yeah. Pretty much. Hulk is back from the dead, and nothing seems to work when you try to get the big green guy to stop his path of destruction. Just look at the cover. Would YOU be able to put the brakes on this behemoth? Pick up this issue of Avengers, and see how things shake out when the Marvel heroes try to contain The Immortal Hulk. Nuff said.
