Staff Picks (February 13): Adventure Time Original Graphic Novel

Oh my glob! An original Adventure Time graphic novel from BOOM! 160 pages of black and white Finn and Jake adventures? Yes, please! In a style similar to Japanese manga and Scott Pilgrim, acclaimed cartoonist Danielle Corsetto will author, while Zack Sterling draws the newest addition to BOOM!’s KabOOM! kid-friendly imprint.

The plot follows Flame Princess as she leaves the Flame Kingdom, alongside Finn the human and Jake the shape-shifting dog. I am curious to see how such a colorful show translates to a black and white medium, but the result will no doubt be as friendly and happy as the show. I am additionally curious to see if the plotline follows existing characters in the Adventure Time universe, or if new characters are created/introduced.

No matter the direction Corsetto and Sterling take Adventure Time, I am certain it will appeal to all-ages and fans of Adventure Time, and might draw in a few more fans.
