Who says a princess has to be dainty and wait to be rescued?

Princess Adrienne is so over being locked up and waiting for her prince to come. Reaching an unbearable state of boredom, Adrienne decides to rescue herself! She befriends the dragon guarding her tower and takes up the sword. Now she is on a quest to rescue her six sisters from similar fates!

I love that Princeless defies fairy tale conventions and pokes fun at all the plot holes in the princess/prince stories we grew up with. It offers an empowering story staring an unconventional heroine both girls and boys can relate to. Though this is geared towards a younger market, it is also smart enough to entertain adults. The art is wonderfully drawn with every imaginable shade of pink under the sun – and lush purples, too!
