Volume two of Ikebukuro entails a story of a prostitute asking Makoto to help her protect her Iranian boyfriend (a construction worker in Japan) from being killed by drug dealers. The boyfriend - hurt and upset that his girlfriend had become a junkie after being sodomized with speed" - interferes with a drug deal to get revenge that ends up going badly.
