This issue of Illustration features the spectacular pulp artwork of Graves Gladney, most famous for his covers for The Shadow magazine. The extensive feature showcases many original Shadow paintings, shot directly from the original art, and presented in full-page reproductions. Most of these paintings have not been reproduced in any other book or magazine for over fifty years, and will be new to even the most jaded pulp art aficionado. The second major feature is on the work of Sandy Kossin, famous for his many paperback and magazine illustrations. Finally, children's artist Nan Pollard displays the paper doll and color book illustrations that made her a legend in the field.
