Ever since her husband took off for a training mission with their baby son over a decade ago, Nodoka Saotome hasn't had so much as a glimpse of her now-grown son, Ranma. That's why, when a mysterious young stranger drops a scroll with the word "Ranma" scrawled on it, she can only assume it's her long-lost boy. Ranma, upset that this stranger has not only taken up residence in the Tendo Dojo, but is passing himself off as his mother's son, can only watch from the sidelines and fume. The boy, as it turns out, is actually Ryu Kumon a martial artist only interested in one thing: Finding the other scroll that matches a set passed down to him by his father. From there, it turns into an all-out competition between the two to find the powerful scroll, learn the ultimate Saotome School secret technique, and prove once and for all which one of them is the "true" Ranma. Then, Happosai's search for an Elixir of Youth calls for one very special ingredient: The tears of one who "is neither man, nor woman." In other words... Ranma! Go cry him a river, Ranma!
