Halloween Mini-Comics For The Trick Or Treat Bags

Candy is essential for every kid’s jump into the Halloween horror holiday. But candy is what everyone is handing out at the doorstep. Every store, whether a supermarket or local pharmacy, has bags of the multi-colored sugar steroids piled up on isle end caps so people can dutifully shell out dollars every year to stock up on the stuff passed out on Halloween night. So what happens when little Johnny and Jane come home to consumer their treasures? A line is drawn in the sand about how many pieces of candy they can eat a day. And then we see how fast “the rule” gets convoluted over the next couple of days. And what should have taken three weeks to get rid of all that candy soon becomes bags emptied in a matter of days.
Hey, who can blame the kids. They’re doing what comes natural. They’re enjoying life.
So who can blame you for doing what comes natural — i.e. looking out for the kids’ health, and well-being?
It’s a given that a trip to the dentist’s office is on a parent’s schedule of things to do before the end of the year. All that sweetness and food coloring in those packs of Airheads and Hershey bars unleashes a platoon of plaque plunderers that drill at the kids’ teeth to start cavity colonies.
Wouldn’t it be nice if parents and friends could help avoid those dental woes, and give the kids something that’s sweet for the head instead of sweet for the tooth?
With Halloween Mini-Comics available from the folks at Dark Horse Comics, Archie Comics, Fantagraphics, and Tokyopop, you can give the lions, tigers, and bears that come to your doorstep something they can read while they’re munching on all those goodies. You’ll be helping them to not only discover comics, but to read! Help them learn something besides passwords for online gaming!
These are the comics you can purchase from your local comics shop retailer:
