From Mondo Tees. For the first time ever on vinyl GODZILLA: TOKYO SOS attacks your stereo! The Kiryu saga concludes! Three Kaiju legends come together in a final battle in GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S. Godzilla rages against Tokyo while Kiryu (aka Mechagodzilla) is on standby as politicians decide whether or not to relaunch. Meanwhile, Mothra and the Shobijin show up at the home of Chujo, an ex-soldier who met Mothra in the 1960s. The Shobijin ask for the Prime Minister to take Kiryu to the sea, so the bones of the original Godzilla it's built on can be laid to rest, but Japan doesn't believe Mothra will fight in Kiryu's place. All of this sets the stage for a titanic battle between Godzilla, Mothra, and Kiryu that will decide the future safety of Japan. As with its prequel GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA, GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S. was scored by Michiru Oshima, who returned with an equally-brilliant score to shake the pillars of heaven. Oshima not only brings back her thrilling themes for Godzilla and Kiryu but also introduces a wonderfully versatile theme for Mothra, stunning in ethereal and melancholic modes, and of course, 'Mothra's Song' appears. There's a genuine emotional resonance to Oshima's music amongst the fire and the fury, with beautiful choral material homaging Akira Ifukube's original music from 1954. It's a triumph from Michiru Oshima and a thrilling musical climax to the great Kiryu saga!

The Big G is back, but has Godzilla bitten off more than it can chew? 1992's GODZILLA VS MOTHRA is a triple threat treasure, with Godzilla battling the legendary Mothra and its dark doppelganger Battra, unleashed by a meteorite and is intent on destroying Mothra and, subsequently, the world. Throw in a rogue archaeologist, his ex-wife, and a multinational company exploiting the minute Mothra Cosmos twins, and you have a thrilling kaiju adventure with a stunning score by the original Godzilla composer, the brilliant Akira Ifukube. GODZILLA VS MOTHRA is undoubtedly one of Ifukube's most outstanding scores, bringing together the traditional booming brass and bass that accompanies Godzilla and Battra with a more ethereal sensibility for Mothra and her mission to save the Earth. Godzilla's theme is stomping in the foreground, and Battra gets similar material with a gigantic doom-laden motif for his destructive power. But the "Sacred Springs" theme for Mothra is a match for any of them, with Ifukube using it in minor and major modes, with a gorgeous rendition with a female chorus at the climax of the score, illustrating once again that when it comes to the music of Godzilla, Akira Ifukube is the master.

From Kotobukiya. Kotobukiya's highly detailed plastic model kit of the anti-Godzilla super weapon, Super X2, from 1989's "Godzilla vs. Biollante" is back! It features movable Fire Mirror doors, a combination of chrome-plated and clear parts for the Fire Mirror itself, and interchangeable parts to depict the Super Napalm or Super Missiles deployed or stowed. Also includes a posable display stand with a base replicating a Thunder Control System land mine (just see the movie if you already haven't!), plus a detailed in-scale kit of a Type 92 Maser Beam Tank. An excellent kit of a popular piece of super-mecha from one of the best Godzilla movies ever made

From Kotobukiya. From the 1989 movie Godzilla VS. Biollante, the anti-Godzilla weapon TYPE92 MASER BEAM TANK joins the Kotobukiya lineup as a stand-alone model in 1/144 scale. Two types of canopy parts are included: a clear version and a version the same color as the tank. Users can display the model with their preferred part. The turret can move up and down and rotate.

From Mondo Tees.  Akira Ifukube Returns! It's 1996 A.D. and Toho decide to freeze their Godzilla franchise, so what better way to go out with than a nuclear meltdown, which happens in GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH. Directed by Takao Okawara, the epic kaiju flick has Godzilla deadlier than ever before, with the absorption of uranium sending the temperature of his nuclear reactor heart soaring, which will ignite Earth's atmosphere and kill everybody when it explodes. Oh, and there's also another kaiju on the loose, the prehistoric mutation Destoroyah. It never rains but it pours! Returning to score GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH was Akira Ifukube, the man who created the Big G's sound in 1954. Fittingly, for his final film, he got to lay Godzilla to rest once again, but first brought back several of his older pieces for the mayhem, including the original Godzilla theme, with another repurposed for the amazing new Super-X3. Destoroyah also receives a terrifying theme with powerful brass, but even his strength isn't enough for Godzilla's awesome force. But with that comes the death of the Big G, and Ifukube composes a beautiful requiem for his final scene. The king is dead. Long live the king! (Charlie Brigden)

An exploration team in the Bering Sea finds an unhatched egg before being caught in a smackdown between Godzilla and the giant Pteranodon Rodan. The egg hatches to reveal a Baby Godzilla, but unfortunately, its presence draws Godzilla to its location. However, this allows the emergency service of G-Force to test out their newest anti-Godzilla weapon: the gigantic mecha Mechagodzilla, loaded with missiles and secret weapons to bring down the giant monster. Once again, GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA II was scored by the legendary Akira Ifukube, whose incredibly thrilling music is a highlight of one of Toho's best kaiju epics. Of course, the traditional Godzilla theme is front and centre and as rousing as ever, but Ifukube also returns to his wonderful original 1956 music for Rodan. Mechagodzilla is given a huge, lumbering theme with low brass that conveys its tremendous power. Still, the sweet and quirky material provided to Baby Godzilla is perhaps the highlight of the score, with a solo woodwind motif and beautiful soaring strings befitting the regality of the son of the Big G. Another Ifukube masterpiece!
