An exceptional variety of high caliber collectibles are set to open for bids in Hake’s Auctions next premier event. Auction #232 contains something for every collector from a George Washington-signed item to a Pokémon uncut sheet. The 2,381 lots in Hake’s auction will be open for bidding from June 8 to June 29-30, 2021.

Leading the political material is a George Washington signed document from 1767. The financial document is also signed by his brother, John Augustine Washington, and is being offered in a public sale for the first time.

Topping original art, is the Peanuts July 3, 1955 Sunday page original art by Charles Schulz. This content-driven piece sees three main characters in every panel and features Snoopy’s initial design.

Among the highly desirable modern items is the Pokémon Shadowless Holographic uncut sheet from 1999 with 99 cards, including 7 Charizard cards. This recent discovery is the only one known and the earliest Pokémon uncut proof sheet to come to auction. Another Pokémon item is the 1999 first edition base set of 102 CGC-graded cards, including a Charizard graded CGC 9.0.

Star Wars items are anchored by a Boba Fett rocket-firing prototype (L-slot) AFA 85 NM+. This unpainted prototype from Kenner’s popular 1979 toy line is the most desirable item within Star Wars toy collecting.

Auction #232 features over 500 lots of political memorabilia from Washington to President Obama and everything in between. Another notable lot in this group is the Henry Clay “Same Old Coon” 1844 campaign flag.

More than 200 lots of original comic art will cross the auction block, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #5 comic cover original final color art by co-creator Kevin Eastman. Another piece that’ll draw bidders is the Superman: The Wedding Album #1 comic cover original art by John Byrne.

The comic book section is their biggest and best ever, according to Hake’s President Alex Winter. Over 400 CGC-graded books, including an extensive selection of first print Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issues and nearly every Marvel Silver Age key from a one owner collection. Featured among them are a high grade TMNT #1 CGC 9.2 first printing with the first appearance and origin of the Turtles and X-Men #1 CGC 5.0 featuring the debut and origin of Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Marvel Girl, and Magneto.

The action figure selection is filled with material, including more from Star Wars and many 1980s G.I. Joe toys. From Star Wars, they have an Empire Strikes Back “Collect All 48 Action Figures” hanging mobile display that is coming to auction for the first time. The G.I Joe material includes a Series 1 9-back (first version) framed uncut proof sheet from the Bill Byers Pre-Production Collection. Another Byers item is the Sgt. Slaughter Series 5 2-up hardcopy paint master prototype.

Within the baseball listings are amazing items from the Black Ball Collection and the Paul Muchinsky Collection. One highlight is the Negro League 1932 Harrison Studios Pittsburgh Crawfords team photo with Hall of Famers Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, and Oscar Charleston. Another important baseball item is the Babe Ruth 1915 American League Champions Boston Red Sox very rare button.
