Hype Check: Cyberpunk 2077

It's actually happening, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally coming out this week. The often delayed open-world RPG from CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is one of the most anticipated video game releases of 2020. And starting on December 10th you will finally be able to play it.
Based on the classic tabletop RPG, Cyberpunk 2020, this ambitious game aims to put players into a living breathing dystopian cyberpunk future where any number of stories can unfold based on how you play. It's presented entirely in first person and claims to have over 100 hours of content to explore. It's a big game and so far critics seem to agree it mostly meets the hype despite the many bugs reviewers have reported. Hopefully most of these issues will be fixed over time via patches. Given CD Projekt Red's record of amazing support they provided to The Witcher 3 after it's release, I'm sure players won't have to worry.
Bugs will be bugs, it's the game that matters most and Cyberpunk seems to be the next great open-world RPG in same the vein as games like Skyrim and Fallout 3 & 4. It will surely keep players busy for weeks to come and looks to be the perfect way to while away the hours during these COVID burdened winter months. I don't know about you but I'm extremely excited to explore a huge open-world city filled with colorful characters and tons of optional side quests. It's just the type of game I've been needing in my life.
So if you find yourself spending the next few weeks immersed in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 then maybe you'll want to bring home a piece of Night City.
