What is Sacred Six? Or sacredsix?
Sacred Six, or stylized as sacredsix, grew out of Christopher Priest's ongoing run on Vampirella. As many know from his critically acclaimed work on Black Panther, Deathstroke and going back further to classics like Quantum & Woody, Priest is a master at the long game. With #11 of that series also out in May and his critically acclaimed first extended arc concluding around #14 - or perhaps "cycle" works better, there was just so much story to explore that a second title was a perfect choice. Though not an issue-to-issue endless crossover "Vampirella Weekly," both series will evolve the overall plotlines.
Additionally, the first arc will feature 5-page interludes drawn by Jae Lee, chronicling Priest's tweaked origin story of longtime Vampirella frenemy Pantha! Future arcs may feature different characters and artists, so stay tuned!
Who are the Sacred Six?
Trick question! Sacred refers to our central setting, the fictional manufactured city of Sacred, Georgia near Atlanta. This city is out to get the citizens of neighboring Ashthorne, inhabited by misunderstood vamps and ghoulies. While "The Six" refers to an evil organization within Sacred acting out these nefarious plans. Though our mismatched cast will eventually co-opt this name for their "non-team."
