Joker Rakes in $234 Million Worldwide

Warner Bros.’ Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix burst into theatres October 4 and walked away with a box office gross of $234 million.

The film earned $93.5 million in North America from 4,374 theaters, the largest October domestic opening weekend of all-time and the fourth largest opening ever for an R-rated feature, topping 2018’s Venom, which grossed $80.3 million domestically.

According to Box Office Mojo, opening day audiences gave the film a "B+" CinemaScore with the under-35 set giving it an "A-". To go along with a solid critical opinion — 69% on RottenTomatoes — the film holds a 91% audience score on RottenTomatoes to go along with an impressive 9.1/10 from IMDb users.
