Originally released in 2009, Greg Rucka's Stumptown comics chronicle the adventures of Dex Parios, a hard boiled private investigator with a penchant for gambling. She's the type of hero that plays by her own rules as she takes on cases to dig herself out of mounting debt. The critically acclaimed series was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2011 and has gone on to fill four volumes of page turning crime fiction inspired by the classic American detective genre.
