Aug 27, 2019
Mad Cave Studios has something for all of you. It's called Wolvenheart (AUG192080), and it's being pitched as a cross between Doctor Who, Castlevania, Penny Dreadful, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
What is Wolvenheart? Well, writer and Mad Cave CEO Mark London is here to reveal the secrets of vampire hunter Van Helsing and his supernatural organization!
****

PREVIEWSworld: What is the organization "Wolvenheart?"
Mark London: Wolvenheart is a secret organization lead by Professor Van Helsing. Their purpose: to protect the timeline continuum from Specters, monsters that lay dormant since the events of the great Crossing in 1700. We follow, Sterling Cross, one of the most prolific monster hunters in the organization as time gets the best of him.
PREVIEWSworld: This book promises appearances by history's most notorious villains. Who can we expect?
Mark London: Our main antagonist is Elizabeth Bathory who was the first female serial killer in history as I was taken by how ruthless and calculating she was. We also have a very peculiar gentleman that goes by the name of Mr. Dorian Grey and a certain Doctor who I can not name at this time, but just know that he’s our version of Dr. Frankenstein. And how can you have a classic monster book without Dracula? Of course, we put our Mad Cave spin to make a Dracula like you’ve never seen him before.
PREVIEWSworld: This is a pretty wild concept. How did it come about?
Mark London: I wanted to play with the idea of using classic monsters in a Victorian-era setting. This has been a favorite historical period of mine, but I didn’t just want to write your typical slasher monster story. I wanted something more wild, something along the lines of Monster Slayers, but adding in some time traveling elements all with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. How’s that for huge epic scale?
PREVIEWSworld: What eras in history can we expect to see?
Mark London: For this first arc we are focusing on the Victorian Era, but in the future, I’m looking to explore the Middle Ages and the Renaissance as those have been fascinations of mine since I was a kid.
PREVIEWSworld: In terms of audience, who is Wolvenheart for?
Mark London: Wolvenheart is for anyone who loves a great action-adventure story with supernatural elements. Something that bumps in the night, but with our signature Mad twist. If you’re fond of classic monsters like werewolves, Dracula, and even Frankenstein, then this book is for you.
