DC Honors Stan Lee in This Week's Comics
Jan 02, 2019
DC Comics paid tribute to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee this week with a full-page memoriam featuring his iconic catchphrase.
Lee died in November 2018 at the age of 95, just a month prior to what would have been his 96th birthday.
He wrote a 2001 DC mini-series titled Just Imagine.... where he re-imagined classic DC Comics characters.
“Without Stan Lee’s fertile and creative mind, endless energy and work ethic, comic books would have been completely different from what we know and enjoy today,” DC Publisher Dan DiDio said upon Lee's passing. “He helped to create worlds that were both fantastic and relatable at the same time, allowing more people to embrace superhero stories. We’ll be forever richer having him with us.”
DC's tribute to Lee appears in all of their January 2 offerings.
