Chris Evans Bids Farewell to MCU

Chris Evans confirmed Thursday on Twitter that he wrapped filming on Avengers 4 and will be leaving his role as Captain America after eight years of portraying the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

Evans made his MCU debut in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and has since portrayed the character in eight other Marvel films. He also starred in 2005's Fantastic Four and 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. 

On Thursday, it was also announced that Evans will star in Knives Out, written and directed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and co-starring Daniel Craig.
