Brendan Fraser To Play Robotman in Doom Patrol

DC Universe has programmed Doom Patrol’s Robotman for its live-action streaming series.

The August 21 edition of Deadline reported that Brendan Fraser will provide the voice and human presence of Cliff Steele, whose brain is removed after an accident by Dr. Niles Caulder and placed in a mighty robotic body.

Per the article:  "Fraser will provide the voice-over for Robotman and will appear in flashback scenes as Cliff Steele. Riley Shanahan has also been cast in the role of Robotman. He will provide the physical performance of the character on stage in full body costume."

Other announced cast members include April Bowlby (Elasti-Woman) and Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane) and Joivan Wade (Cyborg).

Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black) has joined the cast of DC Universe’s Doom Patrol as Crazy Jane, according to the July 30 edition of The Hollywood Reporter.

In the series — part of DC Entertainment’s subscription video on demand service — Guerrero will play an unlikely hero with 64 distinct super-powered personas, making her the most powerful, and unstable, member of the team, which includes Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby) and leader/mad scientist Dr. Niles “The Chief” Caulder.

The series will picks up after the events of DC Universe’s Titans series. Both are being produced by Greg Berlanti.
