Eerie Archives Volume 25 HC

There was a book written titled The Seduction of the Innocent which was published in 1954, and it warned that comic books were a form of popular literature that would cause a serious rise in juvenile delinquency. The book explained in detail that it was the explicit content of horror comic books in particular that would warp young skulls full of mush. The Comics Code Authority was then implemented as an alternative to government regulation, and graphic horror stories later found their way into black-and-white magazines. One of those magazines was Eerie, and in Dark Horse's Eerie Archives Volume 25 HC (AUG180379) you can experience once again tales of gruesome horror in nearly 300 pages of chills and thrills in the deluxe hardcover format. Look for it in the Premier Comics section of the August PREVIEWS comic shop catalog!

Marvel Zombie #1

There's a new pestilence in town, and his name is W. Maxwell Prince. For those of you who aren't in the loop, he's making a name for himeself on his Image Comics series called Ice Cream Man. The book is turning heads around like Linda Blair in The Exorcist. It turned heads at Marvel Comics, too, and Prince as a result has now been tapped to bring his eerie, creepy, unrepentent psychological horror to Marvel Zomibe #1 (AUG180927) with artist Stefano Raffaele on board to illustrate a world ravaged by the zombie virus. The Marvel heroes got lost in it, and the few remaining heroes like Spider-Man, Daredevil and the Falcon don't bring much to the table. Who do you save when most people are dead? Worse, their last chance at salvation may involve them sacrificing their own humanity. Yeah, it's lollipops and rainbows in reverse which you can read about more in detail if you pick up the August issue of Marvel PREVIEWS!

Edgar Allan Poe's Snifter Of Terror #1

Growing up as a kid, do you ever remember seeing hearing about Fractured Fairy Tales? You know, a twist on common every day lore. The folks over at Ahoy Comics thought it would be fun to do a variation of such stories. A vein of storytelling that's a cross between Drunk History and Tales from the Crypt. The plot was hatched, and deranged minds conspired to give the reading public Edgar Allan Poe's Snifter Of Terror #1 (AUG181477). It is an abomination of lies and deceit! Literary decay that mixes classic tales and brand new stories to produce things like the alcohol-damaged version of Poe in "The Facts in The Case of M. Valdemar." High brow reading this is not. This is brain food that melts your mind, and disposes of sanity. There's even a cartoon by Shannon Wheeler! You can find Edgar Allan Poe's Snifter Of Terror #1 in the Comics/Graphic Novels/Print section of the August PREVIEWS comic shop catalog!
