Netflix Places Series Order for Tom Wheeler & Frank Miller’s Cursed

Writer/producer Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, Trollhunters) & comic legend Frank Miller’s upcoming young adult novel Cursed will become a 10-episode Netflix series, according to multiple sources.

The Simon & Schuster novel will be written by Wheeler with illustrations by Miller. The book and series will be developed simultaneously.

Netflix describes the companion TV series as "A reimagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother's death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther."

The creators will serve as executive producers on the series. The novel is set to arrive in stores in Fall 2019.
