Joss Whedon Set to Direct Standalone Batgirl Film

In an exclusive story from Variety it was revealed that Joss Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce an as-of-yet untitled Batgirl standalone film for the DC Extended Universe.

No other producers are currently attached to the project. 

President and Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Picture Group, Toby Emmerich, is overseeing the production with Jon Berg and Geoff Johns.
