Vince Brusio: Chaos seems to follow the Shaolin Cowboy wherever he travels. He takes on odds that, at times, seem insurmountable. One could argue his karma also makes him a magnet for mayhem besides the bounty on his head. Could you say the same? In The Shaolin Cowboy: Who’ll Stop The Reign? HC (JUN170045) what brings the pain? What sugar’s been spilled to attract the ant army? And will the story play out on the back of a lizard?

Scott Allie: The Shaolin Cowboy’s a good man in a bad world. The characters in Who’ll Stop the Reign? all have personal reasons to confront him, and like all villains, they think they’re in the right, they think they’ve been wronged, but the Shaolin Cowboy has just been following his path. He doesn’t cause the chaos, but he can’t prevent it. 

Vince Brusio: The title of the new Shaolin Cowboy book is a play on Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Who’ll Stop The Rain?” If we went on a scavenger hunt (let’s say we’re one of those buzzards in the book flying around looking for a meal), what other pop culture references might we see below us? Or what else in our environment could be skewered by witty banter from Lord Evelyn Dunkirk Winniferd Esq. the Third?

Scott Allie: We don’t see much of the mule this time around. But don’t misunderestimate the pop cultural significance of restaurant chains. Restaurant chains and technology fare about as well in this volume as zombies did in the last volume.
