NECA Acquires Kid Robot

The National Entertainment Collectibles Association has announced that popular vinyl toy company Kid Robot has been acquired by NECA's subsidary company, KR Purchase, LLC! Kid Robot will continue as an artist-run company with the added support of NECA's internal resources. Acclaimed artist and toy designer Frank Kozik will also be joining the Kid Robot team as the company's creative director.

In regards to the acquisition, NECA COO Joel Weinshanker remarked, “It’s rare to have the opportunity to join forces with an artist-centric company like this. We are doubly thrilled to be able to allow it to grow organically and flourish on its own, which is what we’re certain it will do with the involvement of Frank Kozik as Creative Director.”

Kid Robot president Bob Africa also expressed his excitment for the company's future stating, “When Joel and NECA approached us about joining forces, about his intention to support us and allow Kidrobot to move forward with autonomy, I knew we had found the right partner. The timing of Frank agreeing to join us could not have been better and we are incredibly excited about Kidrobot’s future.”
