Staff Picks (Sept13): True Blood Volume 2 — Tainted Love TP

One thing I love is comics based on television shows, especially when those comics are based on HBO original series like True Blood and Game of Thrones. IDW Publishing is releasing a second volume of their True Blood trade paperbacks, Tainted Love, previously only available in hardcover, and I’m excited about it.

I’m a newly-formed Truebie. I wasn’t a fan of the show when it first debuted, and only started watching in season 5, but quickly gathered the Blu-Rays of all the previous seasons and had marathons in my living room to get up to speed with the rest of the True Blood universe. Now, every Sunday night, I’m camped out on my couch completely tuned into the world of Bon Temps to watch the adventures of Sookie, Jason, Eric, Bill, and the rest of the cast. Personally, I’m Team Northman, and while the description for this book leads you to believe it’s more Jessica-centric than any other character, there’s still mention of everyone’s favorite Viking vampire in the storyline.

Whether you don’t have volume 2 or you want a copy in softcover, buy this book! IDW does not disappoint with their True Blood material. It’s original material, so even if you watch the show religiously like me, you will find this a real True Blood treat because it’s more of the characters we know and love.
