Staff Picks (December 12): Assassin’s Creed — The Chain GN
Nov 16, 2012
The Order of Assassins spans centuries, forming a long linage of highly trained assassins and The Chain is yet another snap-shot in the history of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed universe. Two separate stories take place over two very distant time periods but their outcome and consequences affect the other, dictating the future of all future assassins.
In 1917, a retired assassin readies his young son to take his place in order. Meanwhile, as the 21st century becomes a reality, a descendent of the assassin in 1917 finds himself in a strained time in the Order’s history where a mission to Moscow may be the deciding factor for the future of the Order of Assassins.
With words and art by creative team Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl, Ubisoft produces yet another high-quality graphic novel adventure for the casual reader or the committed game fan alike. Not all video game-based comics are created equal and Assassin’s Creed: The Chain stands at the top of the list.
