“Alright… I lost my temper. But God help me, killing is therapeutic.” Vesper Grey, a young lady hell-bent on not only getting her revenge, but also savoring it, in on a wild tear through a fantastic frontier not too unlike the American Wild West. Ms. Grey started a proper young lady, but blood will tell—and she was just too much like her adventurer/archaeologist father to sit at home waiting for a husband. Equipped with the first of many magical artifacts her father uncovered, Vesper relies on the soul of a handsome protector spirit to keep her safe. And it’s a good thing she’s got that spirit! Her father’s magical horde of baubles and talismans draw villains and thieves out of the woodwork. They’ve stolen her father’s life’s work and I’m plumb excited to see her wrastle’m all up again!
The artist, Ms. K. Lynn Smith is an animator and new to graphic novels, but she brings a wealth of energy and expression to her characters. Her sophisticated approach to challenging backgrounds, special effects, and unusual layouts brings a sizzling spark to her clean-line style. The old-timey feeling and sassy story-telling is guaranteed to please!
