With the help of a brave and beautiful ally, the Doctor hunts the shadowy “bog men” to their cave lair and find there’s a reason why men usually never return to tell the tale. In another time, the Doctor makes a house call to treat a dreadful and mysterious virus that plagues its victim with a side effect more hazardous than death. Lastly, the Doctor wakes up wounded from his latest battle against a coven of witches and recounts his story to a curious stranger but the only the Doctor knows that the end of the story has yet to be written.

Blending the theatrics of The Shadow with the varied mythos of Hellboy, Corey Fryia writes the dark side of “steampunk” with entertaining results. “Doctor Crowe knows what lies in the depths of darkness and only he has the remedy.”
