The Last of Us Slated for HBO Series

Sony Pictures Television & PlayStation Productions will co-produce Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed video game franchise The Last of Us into a series for HBO.
Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, writer of the original game, will script from the events of the original game, with the possible addition of material from the upcoming sequel, which is set to arrive in stores on May 29. They will also serve as executive producers with Chernobyl executive Carolyn Strauss and Naughty Dog president Evan Wells.
Set 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed, Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. As they cross the U.S., the small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey that compels them to depend on each other for survival.
