Start Here: Five New Comics For February 13th

Yes, there are a lot of comics out there, but there are plenty of jumping on points because of that fact. Here are five titles hitting stores on February 13, 2019. Each is a new series or the beginning of entirely new story arcs. Simply head to your comic shop and tell your store clerk, “Hey, I’d like to START HERE, please.”

Oh. And bring money to pay for it.

Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep #1

Who is it for? For fans of Evil Dead and fans of Joe R. Lansdale.

In Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep #1 (DEC181091), Ash embarks on a soul-searching road trip to Texas on a hunch that Elvis Presley may still be alive and kicking (and supposedly vanquished a mummy)! What follows is a series of universe-spanning events that involve an Elvis jumpsuit with special time-travel abilities, a trip to 70’s Vegas, plus the reveal of an evil new Book of the Dead, the Necronomicon Ho-Tep!

Hit-Girl Season Two #1

Who is it for? For fans of Kick-Ass and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back

In Hit-Girl Season Two #1 (DEC180057), our favorite adolescent assassin tears Tinsel Town a new one! Joining her is film, podcast, and comics legend Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back) and artist Pernille Rum (DC Superhero Girls)! Gauranteed to deliver tons of Hollywood glitz with equal amounts of Mark Millar-approved gore.

TMNT #91

Who is it for? For fans of the Ninja Turtles.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #91 (DEC180737), the Turtles and their allies take stock in the wake of a tragedy. Little do they know the greatest conflict is about to come! As Karai returns to New York City and means business! Will she come to Splinter and the TMNT seeking peace... or war?

The seeds for the upcoming "City At War" story arc starts here!

Wonder Twins #1

Who is it for? For fans of Superfriends.

After being exiled from their homeworld, alien, shape-shifting brother/sister duo Jayna and Zan take on the traditional Earth custom of a high school field trip. Under the watchful eye of Superman, the brother and sister pull monitor duty at the Hall of Justice as interns, while also trying to overcome the pitfalls of adolescence.

Activate...with Wonder Twins #1 (DEC180525)! At comic shops this week.

Avengers: No Road Home #1

Who is it for? For fans of last year's Avengers: No Surrender weekly event.

Avengers: No Road Home (DEC180831). A weekly event where Earth's Mightiest Heroes journey forth to bring light back to the universe. A weekly book might give you a bit of a pause, but with proven talent like Al Ewing (The Ultimates), Paco Medina (Deadpool), Jim Zub (Samurai Jack), and Mark Waid (Kingdom Come) executing this epic...it's more than worth a look.
