Staff Picks (February): Terry Moore — Strangers In Paradise Gallery Edition

Article Image 6f39

It’s no secret I’ve been a fan of Terry Moore going back to the beginning of Strangers in Paradise in the Antarctic Press days. Terry has proven to be adept at making the characters and situations in his stories relatable, and it’s his combination of dialogue that’s unique to a particular character combined with the nuances of facial expression and body language that makes a Terry Moore title special.

I don’t use the work legend loosely and I’m not here; like legends Jack Kirby, Joe Kubert, or Will Eisner, Terry Moore now has his own deluxe oversized art book from the folks at Graphitti Designs, Terry Moore: Strangers in Paradise Gallery Edition. This 248 page 12”x17” hardcover will look just like Terry’s originals, and we get to see his artistic evolution.

The artwork in this deluxe edition is framed by the original 20-page version of the very first SIP story and SIP #90, the series’ 2007 finale. Included between these “bookends” is a representational page from each of the 105 issues published between issues #1 and #90. Also included is an extensive gallery section with covers and miscellaneous SIP art from the last 25 years.

The print run on this edition will be based on the orders received, so once it’s sold out that’s it; it will not be reprinted!
