Empowered & Sistah Spooky's High School Hell #1

Adam Warren’s cult classic Dark Horse Comics series returns with an all new collaboration with award-winning artist Carla Speed McNeil in Empowered & Sistah Spooky’s High School Hell #1 (OCT170019). Frenemies Emp and Spooky are trapped together in a high school hellscape by the infernal powers that gave Spooky her powers. Now they must team up against the blonde ex-classmates who tortured Spooky and stop them from plotting a ritual murder and claim her supernatural powers for themselves! This is the first Empowered comic series to be printed in the standard size rather than digest, and fans won’t want to miss this bigger than life buddy romp.

Superman #37

The four-part cross-over pitting Superman, the Super Sons, and the Teen Titans begins in Superman #37 (OCT170312), as “Super Sons of Tomorrow” part one kicks off a game-changing story for the Superman family. The Batman of Tomorrow has travels to the present to stop a cataclysmic disaster – one that will have Superboy responsible for the deaths of millions. But the Batman of Tomorrow will have to face down Superman who is willing to do anything to protect his son, no matter the cost.

Assassinistas #1

IDW Publishing’s Black Crown imprint continues its domination of comics with a new series from hit writer Tini Howard and award-winning artist Gilbert Hernandez in Assassinistas #1 (OCT170405).  Dominic Price is your average college kid who wants to spend the semester making out with his boyfriend Taylor as they play video games and try to maintain a passable 3.2 GPA, but Dominic’s mom Octavia has other plans. As a former bounty hunter, Octavia had to spend Dominic’s tuition money on some black op gear so she could get back into business. Now the whole family is suiting up and coming along to earn Dominic’s tuition back, as this modern family is coming to kick some ass.

Marvel Two-In -One #1

The Fantastic Four returns, but the family’s not all here as Chip Zdarsky and Jim Cheung team up for Marvel Two-In-One #1 (OCT170834). “The Fate of the Four” begins as The Thing and The Human Torch are still coming to grips with the loss of the only family they ever really had. Reed, Sue, and the kids are off in the distant corners of the universe and the Fantastic Two must put aside their differences and stand strong as the secret Doom has been hiding since the end of Secret Wars is set to change their lives completely.

Quantum & Woody! #1

The world’s worst superhero team returns as writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Kano bring an explosive new series to life at Valiant Entertainment in Quantum & Woody! #1 (OCT171904). Adopted brothers Eric and Woody Henderson were trapped in a scientific lab explosion that happened to grant them awesome superpowers, but they must “klang” their wristbands together once every twenty-four hours or dissipate into nothingness. So, what do you do when you’re not on speaking terms with your brother anymore? You see, it turns out that Eric, aka Quantum, has been hiding the secret of Woody birth father from Woody and Woody is none too pleased about it.
