Star Wars Legends Await Their Destinies

Debuting this past summer, Disney's Star Wars: Forces of Destiny animated shorts introduced a new generation of children to the Star Wars universe, especially girls with their focus on the female characters of Star Wars like Princess Leia, Jyn Erso, and Rey. Now, IDW Publishing brings the animated style and character focus of the shorts to comics with their Star Wars: Forces of Destiny one-shots this January!

Each one-shot focuses on an era-specific character or character-pairing, showing the hero facing difficult challenges, overcoming those challenges, and embracing their destiny. The five specials -- Princess Leia (from the Original Trilogy), Rey (from Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Hera (from Star Wars Rebels), Ahsoka & Padme (from Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and Rose & Paige (from the forthcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi) -- span the entirety of the Star Wars saga.

With creators including Elsa Charretier, Jody Houser, Devin Grayson, and many more, the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny one-shots are certain to fire the imagination of the youngest fans of a galaxy far, far away!
