A high grade example of Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 9.0 leads the current ComicLink Spring Featured Auction, now underway with an exceptionally strong selection of certified comic books including just about every Marvel key in high grade. “The Spring Featured Auction has an amazing selection of Marvel first appearances and the biggest highlight is an exceptionally beautiful high grade Incredible Hulk #1 certified by CGC at the VFNM 9.0 tier – 1 of only 16 of this major Marvel key ever certified as high. We are thrilled to offer it along with almost every other major Marvel key in high grade,” Josh Nathanson, President of ComicLink, said.

“Marvel Comics launched a revolution in 1961 when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced a new kind of superhero adventure – dynamic but also more realistic and mature than any previous superhero comics,” Nathanson said. “Stan, Jack, and artist Steve Ditko were like the Beatles of comic book creators, producing memorable hit after hit in the early ’60s. The titles and characters they launched in the fertile period between 1961 and 1964 form the backbone of our hobby as well as the modern Marvel media empire that has virtually taken over popular culture. Later generations of creators picked up where Lee, Kirby, and Ditko left off adding characters like Wolverine and the “New” X-Men, Punisher, Thanos, Moon Knight, Cable and Deadpool.”

In addition to Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 9.0, the auction includes such exceptional early Marvel key examples as Amazing Fantasy #15 (first Spider-Man) CGC 8.0 CVA, Fantastic Four #1 (first Fantastic Four) CGC 9.0 Fantucchio pedigree and #12 (first Hulk crossover) CGC 9.6, X-Men #1 (first X-Men and Magneto) CGC 9.0 and #4 (first Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) CGC 9.4, Journey Into Mystery #83 (first Thor) CGC 9.0, Tales to Astonish #44 (first Wasp) CBCS 9.4, Daredevil #1 CBCS 9.0, Avengers #1 CGC 8.0 Signature Series and #4 (first Silver Age Captain America) CGC 9.2, and Tales of Suspense #57 (first Hawkeye) CGC 9.4 Signature Series and CBCS 9.4. Plus, the auction includes just about the entire Silver Age Amazing Spider-Man run in high grade.

The late 1960s Marvel keys are well represented including Silver Surfer #1 (origin of Surfer) CGC 9.8 Fantucchio Pedigree, Captain America #100 (first issue) CGC 9.8 Boston pedigree, Iron Man #1 CGC 9.8, Incredible Hulk #102 (first issue) CGC 9.8, Marvel Super-Heroes #12 (first Captain Marvel) CGC 9.8, Captain Marvel #1 CGC 9.8, Doctor Strange #169 (first issue) CGC 9.8, and Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD #1 (classic Steranko cover) CGC 9.8.
