Invincible #133

Following the success of The Walking Dead’s 25 cent issue, Robert Kirkman’s other long running Image Comics series is getting its 25 cent turn with Invincible #133 (DEC160639). The first issue in the new story arc “The End of All Things” showcases the return of Invincible’s first artist Ryan Ottley for this twelve part mega epic. No corner of the Invincible universe is safe as Kirkman and Ottley tie up the plot threads of the last thirteen years. Once this event is over, Invincible will never be the same.

 Justice League #15

Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the League must face a new villain in “Timeless”, the new story arc starting in Justice League #15 (DEC160299). A mysterious young woman pleas with the team to join the fight against the Timeless, a cosmic threat like nothing they’ve seen before, but the League will have to race through time to defeat them! As they start a literal race against time, the Justice League must travel to both the past and future to fight the Timeless threat.

Wildstorm #1

Jim Lee’s Wildstorm returns to DC Comics with an all new series headed by the New York Times bestselling author Warren Ellis. Wildstorm #1 (DEC160229) is introducing all new iterations of the beloved characters Grifter, Voodoo, the Engineer, Jenny Sparks, and others as this debut issue resets the Wildstorm universe. This new Wildstorm series follows Angela Spick, barred from her employer for trying to continue her research of transhuman implants, as she sees a man being thrown from a skyscraper. As she fights to save his life she unleashes a house of cards that contains the working of the entire world – even the entire solar system. 

Daredevil #17

A new story arc begins as Matt Murdock finds himself in San Francisco in Daredevil #17 (DEC160999). As Matt goes back into hiding with his identity now secret again one question remains to be answered – what price did he have to pay? The cost of Matt’s happiness may come at too steep a price tag as the fallout continues for those left behind in the process. As the new story arc of “Purple” begins we’ll see that not all things are worth the price – not even a happy ending.  

TMNT Ongoing #67

No mutant is safe – not even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - in IDW Publishing’s latest story arc, “Desperate Measures, part 1”. Kicking off in TMNT Ongoing #67 (DEC160511), “Desperate Measures” finds the government hunting mutants in earnest, and not even the Turtles can dodge their unconventional tactics. It’s every mutant for themselves as the battle for survival gets underway, and this time the Turtles must fight for their freedom.
