DC President Diane Nelson channels her inner caped crusader as she dons a custom LEGO couture jacket in celebration of THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE premiere.
Nelson flipped on the Batsignal to get some help from renowned LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya for this one-of-a-kind “Bat-couture” jacket. Constructed from the world’s most popular toy, this wearable art is studded with more than 10,000 LEGO pieces and features the movie’s leading man, Batman, and his legendary adversary The Joker.
Nelson debuted the epic jacket on the red carpet at THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE premiere with Sawaya by her side on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Inspired by Sawaya’s original “Necessary Evil” sculpture which is part of the global touring exhibition THE ART OF THE BRICK: DC SUPER HEROES, this awesome jacket took Sawaya 100 hours to construct in his L.A.-based studio and is a one-of-a-kind.
