The wild reimagining of Prophet started back in 2012 as Image Comics sent Brandon Graham, Simon Roy, and their crew out to redefine an iconic character of the 1990s; Prophet TP Vol. 1: Remission (JUN120482) collects the first foray into this new world.
As John Prophet wakes up from cryosleep on an Earth far into the future and changed by alien influence, he must complete his mission no matter what.
Aficionados of the original Liefeld stories will see the similarities in the core framework of this new Prophet, while newcomers to these tales will admire the beautiful artwork and lush storytelling.
Graham has a rare talent in maintaining a slow but steady burn in his series and Prophet starts out no differently in taking the time to create a rich and lived-in environment, full of interesting and visually unique characters.
The Once and Future Destroyer

Prophet wasn’t the only Rob Liefeld character to receive a modern Image Comics treatment as Joe Keatinge and Sophie Campbell came together to recreate Glory in a science fiction apocalyptic war saga.
The entire updated Glory epic has been collected in the Glory Complete Saga HC (FEB140525), which is a beautiful oversized hardcover full of never-before-seen sketchbook material, scripts, commentary, and more.
There’s also a surprise for Prophet devotees inside because, as Glory ends, hidden at the back of the story is a hint to the fate of John Prophet and the clones created from him.
A stunningly beautiful and heartfelt story, the Glory Complete Saga HC makes a wonderful companion piece to Prophet by giving the spaceman a dose of humanity.

The modern Prophet series is all about the far future, but if you’re interested in the roots of the character it takes a dive into the history of comics to find him.
The character of John Prophet premiered on comic stands over twenty years ago in Rob Liefeld’s best-selling series Youngblood, which was one of Image Comics very first titles.
Now collected in a remastered hardcover, Youngblood HC Vol. 1 (AUG071974) shows the genesis of the character that Graham would have the chance to mold into his own.
