Heroes Unite In Marvel's Defenders

Article Image 763e

From Hell's Kitchen to Harlem, four heroes — Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones — have fought lengthy campaigns against New York City's criminal underworld to protect the oppressed and the dispossessed. An old threat leads the four street-level heroes to join forces and pool their resources as a new team in Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez's The Defenders from Marvel Comics!

With an old foe working behind the scenes to unite the gangs in New York's underworld to better dominate the city, shake down the businesses, and terrorize the neighborhoods, the city's populace has never needed heroes more. Four heroes unite to defend them from the gangs wreaking havoc across Manhattan, and they resurrect a famous name — the Defenders — as the Marvel Universe's new street-level super-team!

Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez continue an artistic collaboration that has spanned All-New X-Men, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, Invincible Iron Man, and Civil War II this summer in Defenders. Bendis brings new perspective to these characters after writing them previously in Daredevil and New Avengers, and Marquez takes his art the next level as he captures the vibrancy and life of the streets of New York as well as the dynamism of the heroes in action, defending the people of the city they love.

Check out how Marvel Comic's next great super-team debuts this June with Bendis and Marquez's The Defenders #1 (APR170978)! Look for more information in the April edition of Marvel PREVIEWS!
