Inconsistent Immortality Means Anxiety After Death

What will the future be like? This question has preoccupied writers and philosophers for centuries, and in November it's a question that top comic book creators Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire  tackle in their own style in the new Image Comics series, After Death (SEP160618). Scott Snyder (Batman) and Jeff Lemire (Descender) imagine a world after death itself has been conquered thanks to genetic manipulation, and it is now a world where humanity is now functionally immortal. But how does this change society? How does it change the individual to know that there will always be a tomorrow?
