All For One In DC's Trinity #1

Article Image f8f1When Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice rolled out in theaters this year, DC’s royalty were on full display, and it was the beginning of a new era for these time-tested characters. The Dark Knight, the Man of Steel, and the Amazon Warrior were up front and personal, and were presented to the public as champions for justice. Defenders of liberty. And woe to the ignorant that thought they were pushovers.

While this unveiling happened in movie theaters, though, a similar effort was underway to present these three in a new light for DC Comics fans. The fruition of that work has now been shown as Trinity #1 (JUL160282), written and drawn by Francis Manapul.

The initial storyline is dubbed “Better Together,” and the beginning pages show that the core of the World’s Greatest Heroes is infused with a new Superman. The focus of the series also examines the facts on the ground for Gotham and Metropolis. These cities are, of course, privileged as they are home to the World’s Finest. But that doesn’t mean they are insulated from catastrophe. In fact, it might make them the best targets.
