Watch The Dark Knight Meet Donatello

Article Image 255cBatman’s pretty much on everyone’s mind these days. More images are leaked for the upcoming Batman/Superman movie that hits theaters in 2016. The cover page for the DC section in the October PREVIEWS catalog shows that the Robin War is underway, and the Dark Knight is going to get caught in those crosshairs before long. Then there’s the news that he’s going to be bumping into the heroes in a half shell, and….you….didn’t hear about that? Well, it is a Monday over here, and the book doesn’t come out until December 9, but…yeah. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (OCT150148) is going to be coming to a comic shop near you courtesy of a joint publishing venture from DC Comics and IDW Publishing. And it’s going to be nothing short of awesomesauce, brother.

The premise of the mini-series is that in the middle of the ongoing power struggle between the Turtles, General Krang, and the Foot Clan, Krang comes up with an idea to transport both the Turtles and Shredder to another dimension. This drops them on the streets of Gotham City.

Guess which costumed crimefighter has to deal with them? To make matters worse, a cast of Gotham’s infamous rogues decides to make things an even bigger headache for Batman because, you know, the Dark Knight can never have enough on his plate.

James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal) comes on as the writer for the series, and art chores are handled by Freddie E. Williams II (Robin). As a bonus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman will be providing a 1:50 variant cover.

As quoted on DC Comics web site, James Tynion IV explains “I’ve been extremely lucky to spend so much time working in Gotham City, but it’s always a thrill to see the world of Batman through new eyes. Taking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a Gotham adventure is a fanboy dream come true.”

Look for Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (OCT150148) in the DC Comics section of the October PREVIEWS catalog!
