Dead By Dawn: Doomsday Preparation Before The Walking Dead Premier

Article Image a691Yes, Sunday October 11 is the kick-off for Season 6 of AMC's The Walking Dead, and if you're just finding out about it now by reading this article, it may be too late to find a hiding place to avoid the zombies. Sorry. You're going to lose some people in your group. Them's the breaks. But there is a silver lining to the doom and gloom if you're running away from corpses that want a piece of your chest cavity. We actually have some doomsday preparations that we recommend before the undead show up on your doorstep. Let this PREVIEWSworld Editor point you in the right cache of unguarded shotguns.

If you're lucky enough to make it to the town of Alexandria, we suggest you do everything Rick Grimes tells you to do, as Rick is the kind of guy that doesn't make time to place nice, stay PC, or stroke any egos because everyone wants to be "liked." Rick deals with the facts on the ground, which would be that zombies are outside wanting to make you their next meal, and people running away from them are just as likely to kill you to as the zombies because food is scarce, and at the end of the day it's every man for himself. Every woman for herself. And kid. Get the picture?

Rick knows that you either "get it," or you're likely to end up as worm food (what's left of you, anyway), so short of building a shrine to the guy how about putting on display The Walking Dead Rick Grimes Season 5 1/4-Scale Statue (OCT152482) to let everyone know where your allegiance lies, and who you're most likely to follow when the zombie droppings hit the floor fan. This statue captures Rick as he's portrayed in the last season, which is a guy who's been through the ringer several times, and doesn't have time to entertain idiotic ideas about what "should" work, or what "could" work. Rick likes to keep things simple, thank you, and this statue pretty much sums up the character's attitude. You're either with him, or against him.

Article Image 4609That cut-and-dry attitude pretty much sums up where things stand with the cast of the show's spin-off series, Fear The Walking Dead. Alliances are being put together literally overnight in that show, and the main characters have to learn real quick that survival of the fittest is going to depend on everyone being on the same page, or else the weakest link in the chain is going to doom everyone, and these people  won't last longer than two seasons. Let's hope it doesn't come to that, and try to avoid such an unpleasant outcome. What say you show your support for those who got the short end of the stick by donning the Fear The Walking Dead: Fear Begins Here Black T-Shirt (OCT152154)? The shirt's front sports the message "Fear Begins Here," which is to say that you know the world's in dire straits, and you aren't one to put on rose-colored glasses waiting for the suits in Washington DC to fix everything. You're on your own. You know this. And you know that priorty #1 is that you better watch your back.

Or else someone who used to be alive is taking a bite out of it...and then another bite. And another. And another.

Look for both The Walking Dead Rick Grimes Season 5 1/4-Scale Statue (OCT152482) and Fear The Walking Dead: Fear Begins Here Black T-Shirt (OCT152154) in the October PREVIEWS catalog, and check out the trailer below for Season 6 of AMC's The Walking Dead premiering Sunday October 11!
