The Brave & Bold In a Tiny Taschen Book

Article Image 8843Paul Levitz started out as a comic book fan. That's how the ball got rolling. But soon he went on to bigger and better things...like editing Batman comic books (among others) for DC Comics.

Then, later, he was the President and Publisher of DC Comics.

Not exactly the kind of guy that sits around watching TV all day.

But all things come to pass, and having climbed the mountain, Paul decided he wanted to go back to his roots and embrace the creativity of the comic book genre rather than managing its numbers and focusing on deadlines.

It was 2010 when Paul Levitz walked away from handling DC Comics, and went back to doing books for DC with a new series of Legion stories arriving on shelves at comic shops internationally.

With over 300 stories to his credit, Paul decided it was also time to set his creative sights on the icon that helped first endear him to the world of comics: it was the caped crusader that first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. We're talking about, of course, the Batman, and Paul has finally completed work on a great little book about one of DC's biggest crime-fighters.

Article Image 0357In The Little Book of Batman (SEP151821), the World’s Greatest Detective is explored from his early days in pulp adventures to his current stature as a global crime-fighting icon that can go toe-to-toe with any other cape-wearing hero with or without super powers.

Featuring 192 pages of the greatest Batman images, Levitz's text pays homage to the inspirational Dark Knight, and walks us through both his triumphs and tragedies.

Batman's personality, his relationships, and his partnerships are all touched upon in this fantastic book that's available in comic shops this November.

Look for The Little Book of Batman (SEP151821) in the Books section of the September PREVIEWS catalog!
