Redefined Justice From Either Gods or Monsters

Surfing the Web you’ve undoubtedly seen over the past few months that Justice League: Gods and Monsters is soon to be an original animated feature, with producer/animator Bruce Timm driving the train for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. People are pretty pumped over the news, as Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman are said to be Earth’s usual protectors, but there’s a twist to their benevolence: they don’t answer to anyone, and Heaven help the person that challenges their authority.

Such a Catch-22 is the same disaster waiting to happen in Justice League: Gods and Monsters #1 (JUN150200) from writers J. M. DeMatteis and Bruce Timm.

This comic serves as a prequel to the DC Universe movie that’s on the horizon, and for fans of DC’s former Elseworlds series of books, it’s a breath of fresh air. Characters we all know and love are (in this case) turned on their heads, and made to drink poisonous Kool-Aid that makes them believe THEY are the solution, and the rest of humanity would be better served if they just followed orders.

It’s interesting to question how justice looks when it’s redefined, and the best way to do that is to first check out the trailer above from DC All Access (which also features an interview with Bruce Timm), and then read about Justice League: Gods and Monsters #1 (JUN150200) that’s featured in the DC Comics section of the June edition of PREVIEWS!
