Article Image 3e1aIt is a sad day for the Marvel Universe as the beloved artist Herb Trimpe has passed away at the age of 75. His career spanned more than 45 years, and he was most known for his 1970s era-defining run on The Incredible Hulk."

"This past weekend I had the pleasure of seeing my cousin, Herb Trimpe, in action doing what he loved - meeting fans and drawing comics. I was there capturing video and interviews about his life and work with Marvel for a documentary that we were planning to work on," posted Glen Baisley on Facebook.

Trimpe's legacy will be known for his contributions to many books, which included among others B.P.R.D., Godzilla, Thor, The Defenders, Iron Man, and Savage Dragon, as well as licensed properties that included Star Wars and U.S. 1. Trimpe was most known for having drawn Wolverine's famous comic debut in 1974's Incredible Hulk #180.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Mr. Trimpe: for all that you did for comics fans worldwide, we thank you.

Rest in peace, sir.
