Hake’s Tops $1 Million Again with Latest Auction

Article Image f00dThe flurry of bidding is done and Hake’s Americana & Collectibles have achieved another $1 million auction with the total reaching $1,024,337. The auction house has been on fire over the past few years making this the fifth $1 million closing in the past six auctions.

“We couldn’t be more excited by these results. The auction had something for every type of collector, so we expected strong bidding, but the prices some lots went for was a great surprise,” Hake’s President Alex Winter told Scoop.

High sellers were led by a pair of Mickey and Minnie Mouse mechanical Old King Cole store displays that realized $29,221. A 1935 Sunday Page of Krazy Kat with other characters totaled $17,014. Sol White’s 1907 History of Colored Base Ball historical Negro League book brought $9,200. A George Washington hand signed Revolutionary War military discharge document sold for $7,558.

Scoop will provide more extensive coverage starting next week. To see the top selling items that closed Tuesday and Thursday check out our other Auction Prices section.
