There is an absolute evil. The Red King lives. On May 6 2015, the legendary creator of HELLBOY, Mike Mignola, and NEW YORK TIMES bestselling novelist Christopher Golden will reunite to present the rise of a new villain: the Red King in BALTIMORE: THE CULT OF THE RED KING, a five part comic book series from Dark Horse Comics with art by award winning children’s book illustrator Peter Bergting, colors by the award winning Dave Stewart and stunning covers by Ben Stenbeck (FRANKENSTEIN UNDERGROUND).

The Red King is legendary. But is he the stuff of myth—or the ultimate adversary of the human race? In this series, Lord Baltimore discovers the truth about an ancient evil that threatens to destroy the world.

"What I love best about BALTIMORE is that I really believe there's nothing else like it in the comics marketplace. It's unique,” said acclaimed co-writer and novelist Christopher Golden. “THE CULT OF THE RED KING is epic horror spanning three continents, with a large cast of characters and a real sense of dread thanks to stunning art by Peter Bergting and the mood set by the colors of Dave Stewart, who is the best colorist in the business, bar none."

The events of BALTIMORE: THE CULT OF THE RED KING take place after the events of the BALTIMORE novel co-written by Mignola and Golden. “I'm really excited about this new direction we're taking with the Baltimore book and Peter Bergting and Dave Stewart continue to really deliver the goods,” said Mignola.

"Baltimore succeeded in his quest for revenge, and now, barely hanging onto his humanity, Baltimore’'s diving into a much bigger mission,” said Dark Horse Editor-in-Chief Scott Allie. “He's not just taking down the most evil people he can find--he's facing off with evil itself.”

Black magic, corrupt religion and absolute evil? Beware the Red King. BALTIMORE: THE CULT OF THE RED KING goes on sale from Dark Horse Comics on May 6 2015. BALTIMORE: OR, THE STEADFAST TIN SOLDIER AND VAMPIRE will be available for paperback for the first time in July of 2015.
