New Apes Book Bridges Gap Between Movies

Article Image a4feBOOM! Studios has been publishing Planet Of The Apes comics for a long time. Why? People can’t get enough of “those damn dirty apes”! Often citing how Planet Of The Apes helps examine society’s ills through science fiction entertainment, the publisher has once again stepped up to the plate to continue their tradition of putting out comics that tie into the modern setting of the newly released theatrical films.

Writer Michael Moreci and artist Dan McDaid tackle the true meaning of the words “society” “civilized” in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes #1 (SEP141125), which bridges the 10-year gap between the same-titled film that was released this summer and its predecessor film, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

This chapter outlines the fall of humanity, and the rise of Caesar’s reign, which is nonetheless plagued by individuals who do not want him to unify the apes to one cause. And on the other side of the country, Malcom must venture into the rotting Americas with his family to find a cure for sickness. A disease that will soon take away his own wife.

Look for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes #1 from BOOM! Studios in shops November 26th!
