Staff Picks (August14): Dredd — Uprise #1

Following the sold-out, sleeper-hit movie sequel comic, Dredd: Underbelly, Rebellion is back again with an all new Dredd movie comic series which expands the movie universe even further.

In the low-income sector known as “The Spit,” tensions are high between the impoverished residents and the corporations who seek to level the area in favor of building new condos for the wealthy one percent of Mega City. The underground movement, calling themselves “Uprise,” will take drastic action against the greedy corporations in order to save the residents of “The Spit.” The class war is on, laws will be broken by the truck-load, and that means Judge Dredd is on his way.

Arthur Wyatt, the writer of the first fan-favorite sequel, brings readers the next tale of Mega City’s legendary law enforcer with the help of X-Men Legacy artist Paul Davidson. ‘Dredd’ movie fans may have to wait a while for a live-action sequel, but that doesn’t stop Rebellion from feeding fans with the ‘Dredd’ content they’re itching for now.
